In 2014, Michele Root was first introduced to life coaching during a Self- Expression & Leadership Program at Landmark (a personal and professional growth, training, and development company) “I knew I found my calling. My life prior to that was not fulfilling, and I dreaded getting out of bed.” That October, she attended a Gifts and Graces at SWIHA and was instantly hooked. “I knew I wanted to take life coaching classes and found myself signed up for the AOS program with nutrition, hypnotherapy, & aromatherapy as an unexpected bonus." She had hopes that the coaching classes would ease her military transition back into civilian life, and then her passion for nutritional wellness took over. “My tip for future life coaches is simple - remain open to the unexpected!”
Graduating from a Holistic Nutrition program allowed Michele to become a Holistic Health Practitioner, and her concentration is on weight loss, cleansing, and detoxification. “My 'niche market' is women aged 45-55 who have tried everything and are still not satisfied with their weight.” Michele helps them tackle the emotional aspect, as well as the physical, with efforts to encourage the cultivation of plant-based diets. “My desire is to have people living a fulfilled life, awakening in them their forgotten dreams, leaving them full of confidence & self assurance.”
Like many life coaches, Michele loves to watch her clients light up and tap into the “’Ah-ha!’ moments that open themselves to more possibilities in life” and for them to wake up each morning excited about the impact they have in the world and those around them. Michele leaves us with this uplifting quote from one of SWIHA’s life coaching instructors: “Passion, not pressure.” Michele added, “We need to come from a place of passion to express ourselves and make an impact on others.”
To future students who also enter the life coaching program or are interested in doing so she says this: “You need to transform yourself first in order to assist others in changing themselves.”
