We all get asked the big question “What do you want to be when you grow up?” For many, this question stays unanswered for a long time. For others, they seem to have it all figured out. The answer to this question comes at different points in life for people, and that’s okay. Your path does not have to follow a certain timeline. For Amanda Shaffie, Life Coaching was always built in for her. She asserts, “I have always enjoyed the investment in others and helping to clear a path for those to meet new opportunities and challenges that further their quality of living”.
Amanda Shaffie already had an established practice, Amanda Shaffie Life Coaching, and felt the need to continue her education, which ultimately led her to SWIHA. Amanda states, “I was curious if my methods could be expanded. With many people feeling more at ease with an accredited formal type of training, I decided to go for it. And I am glad I did”.
With this passion for helping others, Amanda enrolled in SWIHA’s Life Coaching program. Amanda speaks on the profound impact SWIHA and staff members Richard Seaman and James Patrick had on her journey. “Both have been great individuals to learn from… The last few years, James has played a very big role in pushing me and holding me accountable to my own mindsets and goals, which has helped accelerate my accomplishments”. She goes on to state, “All of SWIHA and these experiences with amazing people has left me wanting to do more coaching in my journey”.
Amanda’s journey has led her to be able to create a life for herself that she has always wanted. Like many, Amanda’s goal was to attain financial independence. Amanda declares, “I have created my own environment of how I want to work and live and I feel empowered and lighter,” she continues, “I caught up on life, paid off $50,000 of credit card debt, raised my income to 6 figures, paid off my 2 of 3 vehicles, caught up on 14 years of taxes and am by far more in charge of my destiny than before”. Life hasn’t always been easy for Amanda. She touches on defining moments and tribulations that led her to this path of coaching and SWIHA. “I’ve lived through a lot of pain. I was at one point, homeless from being in a treacherous relationship with four kids. I made a plan, to get out and to attain a much better life”.
When Amanda is not coaching people one on one, she is helping run a furniture store called Furniture Brat with her husband. Even working in a furniture store, Amanda finds ways to incorporate her skills she learned about life coaching to her customers. Amanda proclaims, “ As I design and work with creating spaces in my store, I bring as much as I can to the table to help my clients see how they can execute their creativity in any space...I empower them to create from a place of desire, passion and purpose. All of my Life Coaching skill sets are coaching people without them even knowing it”.
