Empowering Healers: Yana Atim’s Story of Transformation at SWIHA

Before joining the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts (SWIHA), Yana Atim felt her life lacked guidance. Having endured profound personal losses, including the passing of beloved family members, Yana was drawn to a program that could help her heal and grow. Yana enrolled in the Integrative Healing Arts program with a focus on Spiritual Coaching, Healing Botanicals & Earth Ceremonies Facilitation. Her passion for this modality stemmed from her own healing journey, inspiring her to create a sacred space for others navigating grief through the celebration of life and love.

Long before she officially enrolled, Yana sensed a shift within herself—a calling to pursue holistic education. The excitement and passion she felt toward becoming a holistic practitioner confirmed that she was on the right path. This defining moment set her on a trajectory of self-discovery and healing, solidifying her decision to join SWIHA.

Since starting her journey at SWIHA, Yana’s life has transformed significantly. She describes herself as more grounded, compassionate, and mindful. She has developed a consistent practice of meditation, rituals, and ceremonies—both for herself and for others. Her deepened sense of humility and presence allows her to hold space for others in profound and meaningful ways.

Professionally, Yana is now working in the field of clinical massage and Reiki, with opportunities to expand her business and connect with the community. Personally, she remains committed to integrating joy into her life and maintaining a positive outlook, something she credits SWIHA for helping her achieve.

Yana’s passion led her to create her own holistic practice, 柳 [Yana-gi: Willow] Healing Hands of Yāna. Inspired by her education at SWIHA, she offers a range of services, including Reiki and energy healing, crystal and sound healing, spiritual coaching, clinical massage, oracle tarot readings, and crystal rune readings. Having worked at a spa, she has received unanimous positivity from her clients, reinforcing the power of the skills she has cultivated at SWIHA.

Reflecting on her journey, Yana believes her time at SWIHA has been life-changing. The education, guidance, and support she received helped her cultivate a more positive outlook on life. She expresses deep gratitude for her advisor, Riann Wakefield, who provided unwavering support during a particularly difficult time.

For future SWIHA students, Yana offers heartfelt advice: “Stay committed to your program and have confidence in integrating what you learn into your practice! Have GRIT, and most importantly, have fun! If you ever feel stuck, know that resources and connections with fellow classmates are available to support you.”

As Yana continues her journey, she remains grateful for the education and experiences that have shaped her path. While she is deeply immersed in her healing practice now, she is also open to the possibility of furthering her education in the future.

Her story serves as an inspiring testament to the power of holistic healing, resilience, and the transformative nature of the SWIHA community. We are honored to celebrate Yana’s success and look forward to witnessing her continued growth and impact in the world of healing arts.
