Before becoming a Life Coach, Diane Jones was working a normal 9 to 5 job that gave her no personal satisfaction or feeling of purpose. Diane knew she wanted to make a positive impact on the world and help those who want to live a better life and don’t have the tools to get there. The path became clear, and Diane came to SWIHA to gain the education to become a Life Coach. SWIHA quickly became a home away from home for Diane. Diane shares, “It felt like the home I needed! I felt welcomed every time I stepped onto the campus.”
In Diane’s own words, Life Coaching to her is, “the vehicle I use to help myself and others find the true version of themselves. Sometimes people have misplaced their compass, a Life Coach can be there to help them re-navigate a path that helps them become the best version of themselves.”
Life Coaching is a collaborative partnership between a trained coach and an individual who wants to make positive changes in their life. It involves a series of conversations and exercises designed to help the individual gain clarity, set goals, and take action toward achieving them. The coach provides guidance, support, and accountability throughout the process, helping the individual tap into their inner wisdom and resources.
By understanding the principles and techniques of life coaching, you can gain insight into how it can benefit you. Life coaching can provide you with a fresh perspective on your challenges, help you identify and overcome obstacles, and empower you to make meaningful changes in your life.
While digging through the many positive memories and life-changing lessons Diane experienced during her time in the program, Diane shares that the Wheel of Balance was her favorite technique/tool she learned. “I tend to modify this tool to fit the client's needs. I am straightforward, and not shy about approaching obstacles in the way of a client's growth” asserts Diane. Life Coaching is such an amazing approach to lifestyle changes as there are so many various tools available at the hands of the coach! With so many tools in the ‘Life Coaching Toolbelt’, it can be beneficial for clients to get personalized coaching sessions that fit their needs.
Diane offers a variety of services, including one-on-one coaching as well as hosting retreats. Out of everything she offers, leading a group through a weekend retreat is her true passion. Being able to see the healing and growth that people experience is very rewarding and reminds Diane why she chose this path! Diane typically works with those who are trying to get their life “back into focus” or those working on healing and recovery.
When simply being asked why she loves being a Life Coach, Diane responds, “It is an opportunity to cheer someone into their best life, quite a gift!” The feeling you get when a client has a breakthrough or reaches goals that you have been working on together; the reward is priceless.
If Diane had to advise someone who is debating on becoming a Life Coach, she explains, “Make sure you are patient, sometimes change is stifling to clients.
