Durga believes that she was a born healer and has been helping people since childhood, yet she wanted the training and proper tools, so she enrolled in the Life Coaching program at SWIHA. One of the most valuable things she learned during her program was to accept herself as she was. Perhaps the better relationship she formed with herself is why she attracts clients who are working on the present relationships in their lives such as parents, siblings, spouses, and the self.
To other potential students or ones in the program already, she urges you to “listen to your heart and believe in yourself. Everyone is unique with your own style, and there are people out there waiting for you and your style of coaching.” What keeps Durga passionate about coaching is the need for more life coaches. “There is nothing like seeing a smile of relief on your client’s face because they have let go of something that they have been bound to for so long.”
She is also so grateful for the support SWIHA has offered since the beginning. “The support I got from SWIHA was amazing. I still remember sitting in Linda Bennet's office and telling her that I was scared to take this step of changing my career. After having a Master’s degree in Computer Science and working for 12 years in that industry, it was not easy to give that up and start from scratch. My family is not happy that I am leaving a six-figure income, yet Linda encouraged me to follow my heart. Aandra was such a great support for me during my program. Every time I doubted myself, I would just go to SWIHA and breathe the air there. I am not kidding! I did this a few times! Truthfully, I didn’t always have to talk to someone to feel that support.” Like so many other students, the school reminds you that you are not alone.
