At Southwest Institute of Healing Arts (SWIHA), we celebrate the incredible transformations our students undergo as they step into their calling as holistic healers. One such inspiring graduate is Shamiya Taver, a passionate Holistic Health and Wellness Coach who turned her personal journey of healing into a mission to help others.
A Path to Healing and Purpose
Before finding SWIHA, Shamiya’s life was filled with pain and uncertainty. She sought to help others and heal herself, creating a foundation of knowledge and empowerment. “I am a healer by nature,” she shares. “Taking on this new journey will feed what’s already in me, creating a stronger connection.”
For Shamiya, the realization that she was on the right path came through repeated affirmations from the universe. She often encountered knowledge and experiences that aligned with her studies before formally learning them, reinforcing her belief that this journey was meant for her. “What is for me will be placed in front of me—by choice or by force, I will eventually see it,” she affirms.
A Life of Purpose and Connection
Since embarking on her studies at SWIHA, Shamiya’s life has been filled with purpose. She has found ways to integrate her holistic training into everyday interactions, connecting with those who need her wisdom and support. Shamiya is still working on developing her business and marketing herself, however, she has used every opportunity available to spread her message and grow her reach.
Wholelisticallyme LLC: A Business Rooted in Wellness
Currently, Shamiya balances part-time work as a nurse while building her business, Wholelisticallyme LLC. She is also focused on creating an environment that nurtures her purpose, recently moving farther from work and social distractions to dedicate more time to her holistic practice.
Inspired by the needs of those around her, Shamiya established Wholelisticallyme LLC in June 2022. Her business offers meals for wellness, holistic supplements, natural remedies, skincare products, and whole health solutions. Through education and natural healing modalities, she empowers clients with the knowledge needed for true wellness. “The skills I learned at SWIHA help me to promote myself and my business,” she shares proudly.
Lessons from SWIHA
One of the greatest lessons Shamiya learned at SWIHA is resilience. “Never give up on yourself—your biggest critic is yourself! You have to be the battle and eventually beat the battle!” This mindset has propelled her forward, helping her overcome obstacles with determination and grit.
While many teachers left a lasting impact, Shamiya has a special appreciation for her advisor, Riann. “Talking to her gives me life! When I’m in a stuck stage on my journey, she calls at the right time every time—she rocks!” The support from SWIHA’s community played a crucial role in her transformation.
Advice for Future SWIHA Students
Shamiya encourages future students to push forward, no matter the challenges. Quoting Jodi Picoult, she says, “You can always edit a bad page, never a blank one.” Her advice? Just start—write, doodle, blog—whatever it takes to begin your journey.
Looking Ahead: A Vision for the Future
With over 13 years in healthcare, Shamiya is now embracing her role as a holistic provider. Her dream? To one day see her business, Wholelisticallyme LLC, on a billboard—or even open her own wellness center. “I love what I do in both nursing and entrepreneurship. Wholelisticallyme LLC Wellness Center coming soon!”
