Healing & Helping: Natalie Bowker’s Path to Hypnotherapy Success

Written by Jade Marvin | 3/19/25 3:00 PM

Before attending the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts (SWIHA), Natalie Bowker felt called to help others yet wasn’t sure how. The Hypnotherapy program gave her the skills to guide clients which also led her on her own healing journey. Seeing profound transformations within her clients confirmed she was on the right path. Now, as the founder of Space Between Wellness LLC, she empowers others through hypnotherapy and coaching, integrating the lessons learned at SWIHA into her practice and personal life.

What was your life like before SWIHA? What led you to SWIHA and to your particular program of study? Why are you passionate about this modality?

Before SWIHA I was a different person. These Hypnotherapy courses helped me grow and learn more about myself. I feel like I have healed some deep traumas that I had no idea I even had. The Hypnotherapy program kind of found me. I had no idea what I wanted to do, however, I knew I had a calling that I was supposed to help people, yet I just wasn't sure how. Once I started learning about Hypnotherapy and started doing sessions with clients I could see the changes in them. And it felt amazing to me that I was able to help people make the changes that they wanted to make their life better.

Is there a “defining moment” you’d like to speak about? When did you know that you were on the right path?

I knew I was on the right path when the first person I had a session with told me a couple of weeks later that something clicked in her that she was unable to explain, yet she knew it had to do with our session. Just recently I worked with my sister who has suffered 2 strokes and is unable to speak, she can only say a few words. After our session, my niece informed me that my sister put 2 sentences together out of nowhere and went to the store and shopped for herself. It made my heart so happy.

Has your life significantly changed? If so, how?

My relationship with my children is so different. I feel like these courses helped me become more aware of my parenting choices and my need to break family cycles. I also feel happier, and I listen much better than I used to.

What are you up to now—professionally and personally?

I am still building my hypnotherapy practice - Space Between Wellness LLC. I am working with clients, helping them build better lives. In my personal life, I am homeschooling my little ones trying my best to guide them into becoming the best versions of themselves. I remind myself often to stop and play in life. I don't always have to be so serious about everything.

If you own a business or private practice, tell us all about it! What inspired you to start your own business? What services do you offer? How do you powerfully impact clients? How are the skills you learned at SWIHA supporting your work?

I opened my own practice because I worked for many years under others, and I wanted to be my own boss and have the flexibility I needed to be able to run my own business and homeschool my children as well. For some time, I was called to help others, yet I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do and SWIHA fell in my lap you could say. I absolutely love the impact I have on my clients. I currently work remotely and offer hypnotherapy and coaching services.

What was the greatest lesson(s) you learned while at SWIHA?

I learned to be resilient, open to learning new things, and how to listen to others. That was something I struggled with, actually hearing what others had to say. My journey at SWIHA also helped me heal my relationship with my mother and realize she had her own traumas too.

Who were your most impactful teachers while you studied at SWIHA? What were your favorite classes?

My most impactful instructors have been Elmas, Sherry, Gisele, and Stevie. They have all helped me grow into the practitioner I am today. They were all very supportive and each one of them helped me in a different way. Elmas brought me out of my comfort zone and taught me how to really listen. Sherry has been so supportive and helpful through the hypnotherapy courses. Gisele helped me to realize some issues that were holding me back and Stevie has taught me how to market my business as well as being supportive along the way. My favorite classes were Somatic Psychology- The Subtle Body, Past-Life Regression, and Dreams and Metaphors.

If you could give advice to future SWIHA students, what would it be?

If you are struggling, reach out. The instructors are so helpful and give great guidance.

What else—if anything—would you like us to know about you, your work, and/or your journey?

I take great pleasure in helping those who want it. While I am helping them on their journey, they are helping me on mine, and it is absolutely wonderful.
