"I was seeking something that was the right fit for me, a school that had purpose, supportive staff and instructors, where I felt like I was a part of something great and SWIHA embodied all those things and more for me. I had a client that provided me great reviews about the school and from her testimony, I knew SWIHA was the place for me.”
Chanta dedicated 18 years to the Auto Insurance industry, serving in various capacities within the service, underwriting, and claims departments. Yet, she always felt destined for something greater. Her life took a new direction when she discovered SWIHA and made the commitment to a transformative journey in her career. The online Life Coaching Program proved itself the perfect fit for her.
For Chanta, Life Coaching embodies the collaborative process of guiding and nurturing individuals on their life's diverse path. It extends beyond tangible assistance, diving into the realms of the heart, mind, and soul. She firmly believes that the human journey is not meant to be walked alone. A coach stands as a companion, guiding each step along the way, and providing inspiration, praise, and accountability.
Upon graduating, Chanta began her journey with Lifestance Health, a mental healthcare company focused on providing evidence-based, medically driven treatment services for children, adolescents, and adults suffering from a variety of mental health challenges in an outpatient care setting. Here, she extends unwavering support, encouragement, and essential tools to those embarking on their healing journey. Her coaching style is rooted in spiritual guidance and deep introspection of the individual. Chanta's philosophy revolves around creating a non-judgmental space where people are empowered and guided without force, as they pursue their goals. Among Chanta's favorite tools for her transformative sessions are Setting the Agenda, Guided Meditations, and Charting Your Story, all of which create client engagement. She notes, “I have learned by allowing the client to be more involved in the session they tend to be more involved in taking the proper steps to achieve their coaching goal”.
Chanta cherishes her role as a coach for various reasons. Coaching has enabled her to connect with diverse individuals who seek encouragement and guidance on their life's journey. It has also honed her skills and propelled her forward, aligning with the divine plan she believes God has set before her. Chanta regards coaching as her inherent gift and her life's purpose: to take the inner gifts that God has given her and witness them blossom into a lasting source of support for people over the years.
Chanta gives valuable advice to any future/potential SWIHA students considering a career in coaching: be your own coach first. It's easy to overlook the fact that before you can guide others, you must first nurture and understand yourself. Oftentimes, fear becomes a barrier to realizing our aspirations, yet by prioritizing self-reflection and intentionality, you'll find the unwavering determination needed to conquer your goals; thus, being able to support others in conquering theirs.
