I felt most aligned with the Integrative Healing Arts Practitioner with a concentration in the Advanced Hypnotherapy Diploma Program and I am SOul grateful that I followed my heart because prior to this entire experience, I have had a history of allowing my head to talk my heart out of following itself. I graduated in February 2023 and since then I feel even more confident in my decision to choose SWIHA to further my education and help me develop my gifts.”

The battle between the ‘logic’ of the brain and the ‘passions’ of the heart, is a battle that most people experience in their lifetime. Do you go with what your head is saying? Or your heart? Before SWIHA, Jamela Marshall let her head make most of the decisions in her life. She wanted to follow her heart, yet her head always sounded more logical, safe, and more comfortable. Jamela shares, “I recognized that I was choosing to live in the shadows of my own light, yet there was something in me that just couldn't let myself take that first step.” she continues, “One day, my soul got tired of fighting itself and I decided that I wanted more for myself because I deserved it. I have always known that I can do anything I put my mind to, as long as I put my mind to it. I knew that whatever it was, I wanted to be in holistic health and I also knew that I would need financial support. so I put the two in a search bar and SWIHA was at the top of the search.”

As many SWIHA students' journey began, Jamela was just looking around, and it took her a few months before she seriously started to consider enrolling in either the Holistic Health and Wellness Coaching program or the Integrative Healing Arts Practitioner (IHAP) program. After speaking with an Admissions Coach, Jamela instantly knew that the IHAP was the program for her. “I chose IHAP because of all of the healing modalities I could study, and I was most interested in learning more about using hypnosis to help set people free. As I went through the program, my passion for healing grew even deeper. Doing the work on myself and with the assistance of my classmates, I was able to confront my shadow and tap into more of my gifts” asserts Jamela.

Jamela had to go through a very difficult yet defining time towards the end of her program at SWIHA when her dad got sick. Jamela explained it was difficult to keep up with her schoolwork and help care for him at the same time. However, going through this experience really confirmed to Jamela that she was in the right place, as she felt unwavering support from SWIHA staff and her classmates. “That was confirmation that I was right where I needed to be, and I had made the perfect choice to start my studies at SWIHA” exclaims Jamela.

Since completing her program at SWIHA, Jamela’s life has changed exceedingly! Jamela shares, “I have gained more confidence and self-assurance. I have also been able to help myself through self-hypnosis and overcome imposter syndrome. I am not exactly where I want to be in my business, yet my life looks drastically different than it did 2 years ago; my heart feels lighter now as well.” Jamela is currently working a 9-5 as she grows her business and clientele. She also plans to transition out of her traditional 9-5 job during the new year and become a full-time entrepreneur!

Jamela’s business is called Deeply Rooted Holistics. Jamela works to support women who are struggling with reproductive health issues, to get to the root cause of their dis-ease, and to bring their wombs back into full balance and harmony using a variety of healing modalities. These modalities include: Hypnotherapy, Auriculotherapy, Aromatherapy, Flower Essences, and Herbal Remedies. Jamela concludes, “These were skills I was able to learn and develop at SWIHA. I can take these skills and use them to achieve my goal of helping women heal themselves - mind, womb, and spirit.” The three concepts and mission of Jamela’s business is “Fertile Mind. Fertile Heart. Fertile Womb.” Although not all women with womb imbalances are seeking to conceive a child, Jamela explains that womb imbalances cause blockages in more areas of life than just fertility. These imbalances can also affect creativity, sexuality, sensuality, and so much more.

I wish I could say that I chose this path, yet it really chose me. I, myself, have struggled with womb imbalances my entire life and I have learned that it's about more than just finding relief, that doesn't do anything, it just masks the dis-ease. It's about getting to the root cause of the issue, that's how you heal. I help women connect, release, and heal; so that they can step into their greatest version of themselves on their highest timeline. My work is soul-satisfying.”

Jamela’s advice to anyone considering to follow their heart and attend SWIHA is, “If you're considering SWIHA, do it! Just follow that gentle nudging in your heart to follow your dreams. Everything you desire is right on the other side of your fear.
