Valentine’s Day isn’t just about romantic love—it’s the perfect time to embrace self-love and nourish your body, mind, and soul. At SWIHA, our Nutrition Program inspires a holistic approach to health, teaching students how food can nurture both physical well-being and emotional balance. So today, we’re sharing a recipe to help you celebrate love in all its forms: Strawberry Rose Bliss Bites!

Ingredients for Strawberry Rose Bliss Bites

These no-bake treats are rich in heart-healthy fats, fiber, and antioxidants, making them a delicious alternative to traditional sugary Valentine’s Day desserts. Infused with the loving symbolism of strawberries and roses, they’re the perfect snack to enjoy while practicing self-care or sharing with loved ones.

The Symbolism Behind the Ingredients

  • Strawberries: Often associated with love and romance, strawberries are also rich in antioxidants, which support heart health and overall vitality.
  • Roses: Long a symbol of love and compassion, rose water or extract adds a calming, floral essence to this recipe. Roses are also believed to elevate mood and promote emotional balance.
  • Cashews and Chia Seeds: These nutrient-dense ingredients are packed with healthy fats and protein, helping to sustain energy and nourish the body.

A Holistic Approach to Nutrition

We believe food is so much more than fuel. It’s a way to connect to ourselves and the world around us. Our Nutrition program teaches students how to create recipes that align with physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Strawberry Rose Bliss Bites are a beautiful example of how food can be both nourishing and intentional.

This Valentine’s Day, we encourage you to view cooking as an act of self-love. Take a mindful moment to appreciate the process of blending, rolling, and garnishing these bites. As you enjoy them, reflect on the ways you’re choosing to nurture your heart and body.

Pairing This Recipe with Self-Care

To make your Valentine’s Day even more special, pair these bliss bites with a few self-care practices:

  • Mindful Eating: Sit in a quiet space, savoring the flavors and textures of each bite. Allow yourself to fully enjoy the moment.
  • Heart-Centered Meditation: Incorporate a meditation practice that focuses on love and gratitude. Visualize your heart filling with warmth and light.
  • Sharing Love: While these bites are perfect for self-care, they’re also a meaningful treat to share with friends or family to show you care.

Strawberry Rose Bliss Bites Ingredients in Blender

Recipe: Strawberry Rose Bliss Bites

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup raw cashews
  • 1 cup dates, pitted
  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut (unsweetened)
  • 1/2 cup dried strawberries (or freeze-dried for extra flavor)
  • 1 tbsp rose water (or 1 tsp rose extract)
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup (or honey for a non-vegan option)
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds (for added nutrition)
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of Himalayan pink salt
  • Edible dried rose petals or more shredded coconut (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. 1. Soak the cashews: Soak cashews in warm water for 1 hour. Drain and Rinse.
  2. 2. Blend the base: In a food processor, combine cashews, dates, coconut, dried strawberries, chia seeds, rose water, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and salt. Blend until the mixture forms a sticky dough. If the mixture is too dry, add 1 TBSP of water at a time.
  3. 3. Shape the bites: Using your hands, roll small portions of the dough into bite-sized balls.
  4. 4. Chill: Place the bites on a lined tray and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
  5. 5. Decorate (optional): Roll the bites in edible rose petals or shredded coconut for a romantic, decorative touch.
  6. 6. Enjoy: Serve these bliss bites with a cup of herbal tea or as part of your Valentine’s self-care ritual.
