Sabrina Willie describes her life before Southwest Institute of Healing Arts as a rollercoaster: “I was tired of the ups and downs,” she says, “I knew I had to do something.”
That gut instinct led her to leave her job of ten years and begin to define her own path. Two weeks after her new journey began, Sabrina found out she was expecting a child! It cemented her calling to create a life she loved: “I knew it wasn't coincidental. I decided this was a great chance to change and be a better role model,” she tells us.
Sabrina went to a foot soak party, which piqued her interest in natural healing and taking control of her health and life. She was then guided to conferences on holistic modalities and met people who furthered her on her journey. After one event, she received the inspiration to ask for a school that taught holistic care and accepted federal financial aid. She then found SWIHA and enrolled in the online Integrative Healing Arts Practitioner program!
“I applied because of the Mindfulness and Guided Imagery courses, however I fell in love with Hypnotherapy. I loved the Integrative Healing Arts Practitioner program because it gave me an array of tools that can accommodate anyone. Our minds are powerful and metaphorical, which is why I’m passionate about Hypnotherapy,” explains Sabrina, “I've seen results personally and with volunteers in just a few sessions and it's been a great feeling to be able to assist them along their journey.”
Another tool that took her pleasantly by surprise was Toe Reading: “It's such a unique topic and tool that it grabbed my attention from the start of the program. It's so much fun to read the metaphors in the toes. I look at my toes from time to time to see what inspiration they have for me.”
Sabrina goes on to tell us that everything seemed to fall divinely in place for her after making the decision to come to SWIHA: “I knew I was on the right path when everything went smoothly. The application, the funding, the accessibility of online classes, and the feeling I had inside. I finally did something for me and no one else. It was my biggest first step to my healing journey which lead to fulfilling my passion of serving others.”
The transformation for Sabrina was both in the professional realm of her life and deeply personal: “I have learned and grown so much. I am forever grateful to this program. I received so much more than I expected. I learned to deal with my issues; Clearing, releasing and healing all within a year and a half. It has been a wonderful journey. I was able to build my confidence, working with volunteers, create a business plan and execute my ideas. It has really brought out my spark. It's nice to feel my worth again and that has been the biggest change for me!”
Sabrina is focused on her business, Soul to Sole, where she specializes in childhood trauma in women and issues surrounding anxiety and depression in young mothers. Her offerings include hypnotherapy, weight management, resiliency building, releasing soft addictions as well as other relaxing, insightful services utilizing her knowledge of auriculotherapy and toe reading.
“The reason I started this journey was because I suffered and I had to find my own journey to heal and find my worth,” she shares, “I want to assist others on their journey as a way to pay it forward to the many people who assisted me. We all deserve to live a happy, purposeful life.”
Sabrina impacts her clients by allowing them to see their true potential and empowering them to know their own answers come from within. “The skills from SWIHA has allowed the sessions to flow with ease and strengthened my intuition so that I can customize the tools to better assist the clients needs,” Sabrina says.
“There is a journey to healing,” she continues, “It may not be easy, actually rather difficult at times, but sticking to it, trusting the process has proved the greatest gift of all. There are ‘blessons’--blessings in every lesson--and I can choose to stay calm in the storm of life. The Universe has my back.”
For future SWIHA students, Sabrina has this wisdom to share: “Manage your time. It's a lot of work, and it's well worth it. As long as you do your best you will gain ten fold back in learning. Also, don't hesitate to reach out. Everyone is so nice to work with and SWIHA cares about their students and will do whatever it takes to assist them the best way they can.”
As for the rollercoaster ride Sabrina is on? “For the first time in my life, I feel like my rollercoaster goes to Heaven. I haven't worried about it going down and never coming back up. And if it happens to go down, I feel ready more than ever to adjust its course. SWIHA gave me those tools and I can't wait to assist others so they can feel the same way.”
