Criticism Never Cured Anything

Posted by KC Miller on 8/15/24 4:00 PM

Bam! Mic drop! These words really caught my attention: “You can’t criticize yourself into changing!

During a recent road trip, my husband and I were listening to a podcast by Jay Shetty known as ON PURPOSE.  The topic was “The Inner Critic”. The following are the notes I felt compelled to write down and share with you all today:

James Patrick’s Fire Within: A Life Coach’s Guide to Helping Others

Posted by Jade Marvin on 1/31/24 8:00 AM

I always say SWIHA chose me. I went to lunch from one of my random jobs one afternoon, and came across a SWIHA course calendar at the table I sat. As I read through, I discovered more about the Life Coaching program and it was an instant connection to what I had been seeking yet did not know existed. Once I came to visit the campus, the rest was history. The feeling of belongingness, the community, the environment, the course content, and the immersive experiences I would get sold itself. This was a school that taught true understanding and not just memorization.

Why SWIHA? The Benefits of the Path Less Traveled

Posted by James Patrick on 4/6/23 4:00 PM

When I was in high school, I was your average student with a good group of friends, good grades, and a pretty typical family life. I was not a “problem child” by any stretch of the imagination. Like many, I had classes in which I excelled and some that challenged me, where I’d often find myself asking, “When am I ever going to use this stuff?” My sophomore math classes come to mind and to this day, I’m still not a huge fan of numbers, yet I know the basics to get me through business and everyday life. I often questioned the traditional way of doing things because the simple fact is that I’ve always learned and viewed the world a little differently. I’m far from a traditional person so why would my education have to follow the exact same formula as everyone else? The truth is it didn’t and so, I actively sought out my options.

Life Coach, ReNae Schramm, Holds Space for Clients to Get Out of Their Heads and into Their Bodies

Posted by Jade Marvin on 3/2/23 4:00 PM

What was your life like before SWIHA? What led you to SWIHA and to your particular program of study? Why are you passionate about this modality?

My life before SWIHA involved a lengthy corporate career and years of talk therapy! An off-handed comment about becoming a Life Coach opened a world of opportunity. I stumbled across ads for SWIHA, stopped in for a visit, tried out several classes through the guest pass program, and landed myself in the Life Coaching program. I'd always been interested in Hypnotherapy and found the schedule aligned, so that became my weekend gig. It didn't take long before I was hooked! Being around like-minded people and learning how to use these techniques changed (and healed) me more than I ever thought possible. I couldn't wait to share my talents with the world and used these skills whenever I could.

Posted by Jade Marvin on 7/21/22 4:00 PM

We often hear the phrase ‘you have to pay your dues’ in situations where someone starts out in a new career field. This phrase translates to the understanding that you have to first experience difficulties before reaching success. This does not have to be a reality for everyone.
