Born To Be a “Life Coach” aka Spirit Guide – Becca Briley’s Story

Posted by KC Miller on 1/3/19 8:00 AM

Some people get messages very early in life that they are destined for greatness.  This is the case for Becca Briley.  When she was a little girl about eight years old she had a very powerful and beautiful vision. It was no ordinary dream!  “It felt so real,” recalls Becca tapping into a very vivid and visceral memory.  “Jesus himself appeared to me, at bedside, with the simplest of message: 'You Can Fly.'”

Becca continues: “Even then I knew humans do not fly, yet those three words have served as my life’s marching orders. In the vision, I stepped to my windows ledge and felt the most liberating sense of freedom. I jumped into the wind that carried me to elevations only winged creatures were capable of.”

I Made a Vision Board & This is What it Taught Me About My Goals (You Should Do It For 2019!)

Posted by Taylor Jablonowski on 12/27/18 2:00 PM

Hello everyone! Taylor here.

Being immersed in SWIHA-land for the past three years, I’ve heard a lot about vision boards. In fact, many of my coworkers keep them in their offices. They’re full of travel photos, symbols of prosperity and health, wishes for love and plenty of inspirational quotes. I love looking at other’s vision boards because I get to learn so much about their dreams and priorities.

With the new year approaching at lightspeed, I’ve been thinking about what I’d like to accomplish in 2019. So, I woke up this morning and decided to create my very first vision board! I grabbed my scissors and glue, found an unused canvas and began hunting for old magazines…to no avail. My on-going quest to live minimally has me reading digital copies of everything and immediately recycling junk mail.

“I love beauty. However, my passion also lay in holistic and energetic healing,” Kelly explains, “I didn’t know the term ‘multi-passionate’ at the time. I just thought I was flighty and that in order to get into my holistic health work I’d have to leave my beauty work. I struggled with it for a long time.”

Heart to Heart with Dr. Paul Bernitt: Integrative Medicine and the Intelligence of the Body

Posted by Taylor Jablonowski on 9/13/18 2:01 PM

Dr. Paul Bernitt, a Board Certified Doctor of Holistic Health and founding member of Trivita Clinic of Integrative Medicine in Scottsdale, has worked in a wide variety of health care entities including long-term care, OB/GYN, children’s hospitals and family medicine since 1998.

“My life was all about how much I could get done,” he says, “raising my family, being active in my church and trying to ‘get ahead in life’.”

In a turn of fate, Dr. Bernitt fell ill. He was diagnosed with metabolic syndrome and, at age thirty-six, was already experiencing atherosclerosis, a hardening of the arteries. The traditional allopathic doctors he spoke with told him that he would have to reduce sugars and carbohydrates from his diet, increase his physical activity and that he would need to take medications to help him manage his condition.

Coming Out of Her Shell: Katie Hembrough Spreads Light with Yoga

Posted by Taylor Jablonowski on 9/6/18 2:00 PM

If you’ve ever been to our yoga studio and training facility, Spirit of Yoga, you’ve surely noticed our shelled friends sunbathing in the pond. Due to their wide-eyed, slow-and-steady nature, many consider turtles to be the wisest souls in the animal kingdom. When Katie Hembraugh first saw them, she took it as a sign to “come out of her shell” and pursue Yoga Teacher Training!

“I had developed a habit of not showing up and letting opportunities go by while hiding behind being not ready...[so] I landed at SWIHA because of the turtles!” laughs Katie, “Synchronicities are one way I see my life guided by my Great Attractor. I met Laura Mckinzie and saw the overflow of turtles living in the pond at Spirit of Yoga and the decision was made.”
