G-IVE GRATITUDE A TRY
Gratitude has always been familiar to me; basically, I’ve been a pretty happy-go-lucky person my whole life. By nature, I’m an optimist! As a longtime student of A Course in Miracles, I consciously choose to be “miracle ready” which means choosing to be in a state of gratitude and readiness as a daily practice. An “attitude of gratitude” was fully reinforced during my travels to India.

When I was a little girl, my parents got divorced. I was 6, my brother 9, my little sister just 5. We went to stay with my dad’s parents so he could continue on his job on the railroad. My grandfather was retired and had been in the navy. My grandmother was a rough and tough sort of woman that had been married five times, rodeo trick rider, sharecropper, all-around tough cookie. I share this with you because I had no pause, my family had no pause. The next steps my family took could have been changed or at the least given a pause, we as a family could see the purpose in our actions. When I was 9, I ran away from home. They called my mom (which I had been told was dead) and she flew to see me face to face to tell me, her daughter, she could not take me back to live with her. She got on a plane the next morning.

Its 11:11 make a wish! Do you ever catch yourself looking at a clock, a license plate, or receipts and seeing consecutive numbers like 222, 333, or even 555? Ever wonder what it meant that you see these numbers so often? Well, Angel numbers are recurring sequences of numbers that have spiritual significance. The line between our physical world and the spiritual world isn’t as resolute as one may think. Angels and guides often communicate with Angel numbers or various “signs” that hold deep spiritual significance. Think of them as a gentle and loving invitation to build trust in your own spirituality. And when you pay close enough attention, you may begin to notice these patterns show up more often as you become more attune with receiving messages from the universe.

A Japanese master during the Meiji era (1868-1912) named Nan-in welcomed a university professor who came to learn about Zen. The Japanese master began to serve tea. Nan-in poured the professor’s cup full, and then some. As the professor watched the teacup flow, he eventually could no longer restrain himself and blurted out “It is overfull. No more will go in!” Nan-in then replied, “like this cup, you are full of your own opinions and speculations. How can I show you Zen unless you first empty your cup?”

Holistic health is truly about caring for the "whole you" this means not just caring for your physical health through diet, exercise, and interventions if necessary, it also means caring for your mental, emotional, and spiritual health. For every individual these are going to vary in importance as well as vary in what works or does not work to help support them along their path to overall health and well-being. This is often described as "treating" the patient, client, or person as a whole- as opposed to treating them as their symptom. In terms of symptoms people often forget they spread far beyond physical ones such as experiencing a runny nose, headache, or cough. Other symptoms include those often associated with one's mental health like generalized feelings of sadness, loneliness, anxiety, etc. These can also be tied to spiritual and emotional health as well. This is why it’s so important to treat the WHOLE individual, as opposed to the symptom, because if you treat the symptom you won’t get to the root cause of the issue, you just cover it up further.

To talk about the power of empathy, one must first understand the difference between sympathy and empathy. According to Psychology Today, ‘Sympathy’ is a feeling of care and concern for someone, often someone close, accompanied by a wish to see that person better off or happier. However, sympathy, unlike empathy, does not involve a shared perspective or shared emotions. The power of empathy is the ability to understand another person’s thoughts and feelings, stepping into their shoes, and seeing things from their perspective.

Camlyn Stoeberl is a mother, Tarot Reader, Soul Guide, Life Coach, Seer, and a SWIHA great graduate. Camlyn helps support women to dive deeper into themselves and lift the spiritual veil so they can ignite parts of themselves that need healing and embody their truth.
“I decided on a whim to sign up for the program. I felt confident that my spirit was guiding my journey and I wasn’t wrong. I would say the defining moment for me was when I realized that I had overcome a major hurdle in my own financial limiting beliefs that had been keeping me poor for my whole life. I began to notice that the less I worried about money the more it was always coming into my life. I knew I was on the right path when I was able to rewrite my stories in much more empowering ways that served me.”

“There is no greater time than now to experience the full power of your potential. Make this the day you take the first step in the beautiful journey of bringing your dreams to life.” - Dr. Steve Maraboli
For Lindsay Morgan, a great graduate from the Integrative Healing Arts Practitioner program, her journey at SWIHA allowed her to realize her full potential, which unlocked her ability and willpower to do more than she had previously thought possible. Lindsay expresses, “The hardest part is showing up, but when you do it will all be worth it. You are more capable than you know and trust whatever happens is meant to be”.

“Pay attention to the things you are naturally drawn to. They are often connected to your path, passion, and purpose in life. Have the courage to follow them” - Ruben Chavez
Through life's trials and tribulations, it is easy to want to give up or simply move on. To diverge from the path in front of you. It is difficult for many to stay on the path they were destined for or to pave their own path that will ultimately lead to their success and happiness in life. Jamey Martell came from a not-so-easy life that eventually led her to SWIHA. For Jamey, she was able to push through many of life's curve balls. Jamey Martell is a unique and strong graduate from SWIHA who is ready to share her story and help others along the way.

When we look for guidance, we often look outside of ourselves for answers or to feel complete. We may feel unworthy or unprepared for answering our own questions, when in reality, the answer was within ourselves all along. Being in tune with oneself is a hard skill to master, yet a necessary one to be able to gain clarity through life’s hardships. When we draw awareness inwards and practice the art of mindfulness, we can then begin to feel supported and at peace. Like any relationship, the one we have with ourselves takes time to nourish and thrive.
