Become a Yoga Therapist

As a passionate Yoga Teacher, you’ve already laid the foundation of your yoga journey by completing your 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to deepen your knowledge, expand your healing capabilities, and transform lives on a more profound level? At the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts (SWIHA), we believe that yoga is more than just a physical practice—it's a path to healing, balance, and personal growth. That’s why we’re inviting you to take the next step in your yoga journey and transfer your 200-hour Yoga Alliance certification into our 1000-hour Integrative Yoga Therapy Diploma program.

Why Choose SWIHA’s 1000-Hour Integrative Yoga Therapy Diploma Program?

Yoga is evolving, and so might you as a teacher. Our 1000-hour Integrative Yoga Therapy (IYT) Diploma program offers a unique opportunity to take your yoga practice and teaching skills to new levels, including a deep expertise in working one-on-one with people and their healing journeys. Here’s why it’s an extraordinary choice you may want to consider:

  1. A Holistic Approach to Healing: SWIHA’s Integrative Yoga Therapy program combines traditional yoga teachings with modern therapeutic techniques. This allows you to cater to students with a variety of needs—from physical injuries to emotional healing. Our approach is designed to empower you to guide students through profound transformation, both physically and spiritually.

  2. Therapeutic Expertise: As part of the program, you'll gain a deep understanding of anatomy, physiology, and the therapeutic application of yoga. Whether you're interested in trauma-sensitive yoga, yoga for mental health, or working with specialized populations, our program provides the knowledge and skills needed to support diverse students on their healing journeys.

  3. Comprehensive Curriculum: The IYT program is rooted in a well-rounded curriculum that includes advanced asana practice and pranayama (breathing techniques), somatic breathwork, meditation, the study of yoga philosophy, and the advanced yoga technologies developed by Amrit Yoga Institute, who serves as our educational partner. This comprehensive approach ensures that you’re equipped with a full spectrum of tools to guide your students toward holistic well-being.
  4.
  5. Become a Certified Yoga Therapist: In partnership with the Amrit Yoga Institute, our students will have the chance to be sponsored by Amrit to join the International Association of Yoga Therapy (IAYT). This partnership provides the opportunity for students to start the path of becoming recognized as a C-IAYT. By transferring your 200-hour certification, you’re positioning yourself as a sought-after yoga therapist in the wellness industry with the credentials to match.

  6. Supportive, Like-Minded Community: Studying at SWIHA means becoming part of a community of passionate healers, teachers, and students dedicated to personal growth and professional development. Throughout your program, you’ll have access to a network of experienced mentors and fellow students who will support you every step of the way.
